And what is true in the winter is true in the summer- Angel Fire is one of the top vacation values in the country.  The golf course is one of the top five high elevation courses in the U.S.  When I returned from our first trip there, I told my golfing buddies that I had discovered the secret to 300 yard drives while in New Mexico... 8500 foot elevation and a 30 mph tailwind!  The signature hole is a par 3 with an over 200 foot elevation drop to the green.  I have played everything from driver to pitching wedge depending on the wind and tee placement.  It is a true mountain course with stunning views and many elevation changes.  Only 30 miles from Angel Fire is Taos' Golf Course.  This fabulous desert style layout is a great dichotomy to Angel Fire in terms of set up, and is well worth the short, scenic drive.  And speaking of Taos, you will find everything from excellent shopping, to fine art galleries, to world class dining, in one of New Mexicos most popular tourist towns just a beautiful 30 mile drive from Angel Fire.

Angel Fire has become one of the nation's premiere mountain biking destinations.  As host of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, Angel Fire features a virtually endless, and varied terrain from easy cruisers for beginners to wicked drops and runs for experts.  Several local shops rent bikes and gear and the runs are serviced by the lifts throughout the summer months.  Check out the Trail Map to see more! 

One of our families favorite Angel Fire activities is white water rafting.  An endless variety of rapids await you from gentle floating day trips perfect for any age, to extreme class V adventures for only the most seasoned rafters.
